Looks like I need some help

Yeah I've had AMD cards before and had big problems with drivers and stuff. Although it was a dual gpu and not single which I've heard don't suffer as much. Overall Nvdia have really more advanced driver setup and no more restarting to install properly. I'd go for the Nvdia. I currently use Gigabyte 670 4GB edition for £200 new and it works fine.

I'm also an nVidia fanboy.

Too many driver issues with AMD cards

In terms of what card, I usually just look for a card at the right perf/price point on a suitable graph.

I recently made the switch across to NVIDA I got my self a GeForce GTX 750Ti and am so happy with the results.  Along with the ability to record using shadowplay as well.
