I don't care what the Pentagon are doing, we're still gonna fly this thing in Arma

So was the Harrier and we lost that as well before the F35 is ready.

There's only one Lightning for me:

Yeah I agree with you that once the F35 is ready that it should replace the harrier.  But withdrawing a piece of kit that was being highly used in Afghan at the time for CAS was a bit stupid.  They ended up having to send out a load of Tornado's that were due to be scraped for the Typhoon because the RAF needed a fast jet.

That plane (or possibly his single seater) ended up killing one of his ex RAF pilots and getting the whole fleet grounded I hear... sad

My stepdad used to fly Buccaneers (there's a black one featured about half way through). These things were the fast jets, he flew LOW ! Most of his regiment......DIED hitting waves in the '70's seriously !

But he did manage to blag a ride in a Lightning once... said it was the single fastest/scariest thing he'd ever done. Breathtaking apparently
