There's not really much to it to be honest, quite easy to set up.

Ironically I was doing some research on TrackIR and found this mentioned on the BI forums. I'm glad I did haha.

I thought the same Batz. I had a feeling that it would be really buggy and just suck, but the results speak for themselves (as seen in the video). Perhaps you tried this is in poor lighting or didn't tweak the settings properly. I haven't tried this at night mind you, so it'll probably start bugging out a lot with less light.

FreeTrack is a nice alternative if you don't mind building your own setup and gluing LEDs to your face (similar to the real thing).

In the first video are you moving your head slow or is that the reaction time or delay. If so then it's pretty sub-standard to the real thing. I bet like Batz said with the bad lighting effecting movement aswell, are you all playing in pitch dark rooms

I'm gonna be trying something a little different soon. Think gyroscopes and accelerometers
