Why not buy an SSD? and keep the other 1TB for space.

Asus Xonar is a good buy too I got the DX and its great for music and games.

Where are you going to install your OS / Apps?

I would have got a smaller drive just for that if you're avoiding SSD. Although I haven't really checked the benchmarks for those two. Just seems awfully large and that 4TB one is slower RPM unless you got the faster one.

I've got a 1TB and I never really go close to filling it. My other portable where I store tons of data still has about 480GB left. You must record a lot to fill up a 4TB If you use fraps then you definitely will fill it in no time lol.

Cool, guess everyone has different requirements anyway.

Howl - I'm a bit of a nerd in this area so can see that you've made some great choices.

I would totally disagree with your POV on the SSD though. It's the SINGLE fasted upgrade to any system and you will NOT regret the extra Moolah.

Just get a Samsung 840 EVO - preferable the 250gb but the 120gb is still very good. The SSD firmware allows Caching on the ram so you basically see PCie SSD levels of throughput of up to 1000GBs.

You put your OS on there and your basic software and cache out to the HDDs.

Really for your editing you ought to be editing on another SSD too. it would SIGNIFICANTLY increase your work flow - but I understand if two SSD's is too much money - you can always add one later.

With justy HDD's - you will honestly be bottle necking you system.



Also ram - don't get the Corsair Vengeance 16GB (8GB x 2) Get the Ram on my build instead, it's faster and cheaper trust me.

I just LOVEEEEE having Windows+Arma3 on SSD.

I know I know, Arma 3 should be run from a 3.5" floppy drive. My bad.

That's a lot better for boot drive anyway. 3TB is enough for storage its massive and has a good RPM unlike the 4TB.

Mos people still live with their parents so I guess they get free electric
