Thanks for the vid Magazta.

That first contact at 2:57 was an interesting one  - when the contact was called and the direction given, I looked out and spotted a patrol at medium range near the village on the edge of visibility, exactly on the bearing - the two which Cud called out were much closer but were obscured for me. As no range on contact was given, or my range estimate of 250m corrected (until they reappeared later on), my assumption that I had eyes on didn't get questioned, hence my calls to wait for them to get closer.

When I finally did see them at danger close it was quite a surprise, as the two I was watching were still at 200m or so! Fortunately we had kept a good position so the ambush was effective, but it was a worrying moment. 
I guess it's a good reminder to all, myself included, that contact calls need to include range, direction and type of contact.
