ACRE was really slow to port across to Arma 3. For a long while we had to use the old ACRE released for Arma 2. It was useable but buggy. Then TFAR came out and a lot of clans switched across to it, including ourselves. The ACRE team are only now just starting to catch up, adding in things like the long range radio. Everything we currently have in terms of missions / mods uses TFAR as it is currently the most common place. If this was to change in future, who knows. ACRE would need testing and we'd have to adjust all of our missions accordingly. At the moment there is no desire - or available manpower - for such an undertaking.

We have been keeping an eye on ACRE, and keep testing it.  As of several months ago, it  still lacked the reliability and required features of TFAR.  We'll continue to monitor it.

Either way, the fact that both are being actively developed is positive.

Found a bit more info and a recent post from one of the new devs. They are still working on version 1.0 and once they are feature complete, they estimate one month of testing. There is already pre release build available. Here is the current changelog from it:+

Performance improvements in the Teamspeak Plugin

Using SharedMemory instead of NamedPipe to communicate with Teamspeak
Fixed Teamspeak logspam of 'can't center client'
Fixed 1 second freeze when unloading the Plugin
