Robbie, the result I (and others I talked to) got was that the audio would snap from 100% in one ear to 100% instantly as I scanned across an angle, but that the swap-point wasn't actually pointing towards the target. Also, meant you couldn't really tell if something was infront, behind, front-left, rear-left etc. Frequently my first response to being shot would be to frantically spin on the spot trying to work out which way I needed to move to get cover - not something I've ever had to do in an FPS before, because they all have reasonably positional audio
