I dont think we have a agenda yet about the placement of recruits in this ones, but I personally feel we should follow the agenda we have in our private operations (midweek, sunday, patrol ops), in which recruits are in "rifleman roles" inside sections. Reason behind this is that public operations are very good opportunitiys to get some +1 votes as a recruit and show that you fit in well in this unit.

So recruits are more limited than members of the public? I personally enjoy the nights on the public server because I'm not as limited as in private ops, so I can practise being an SL or a pilot in a more organised environment. I can see your point about needing to be observed to gain the +1's, but I feel in the public actions the rule stating as an SL I need a member as my FTL covers this need.

Makes sense to me - we should be encouraging recruits to impress us and develop their skills in structured environments :)

And who knows, some of them may even be able to teach us something...

As a recruit you are not technically a member of the unit yet and as so, the rules regarding slotting will be the same as for non members.

I see no reason to restrict recruits in the way we do on private ops. (Which is for a very good reason and to the recruits benefit despite recruits asking for Gucci slots on every single sign-up)

Just do be aware that as a recruit, extra vigilance is taken regarding your behaviour and attitude and that voting is not restricted to just private ops.

I was only disagreeing with the idea of restricting public ops in the same way private ops are, not the fact that private ops are restricted, Sorry if my reply came across as anything other than that, or if it seemed hostile. That was never my intention at all, I was just throwing in my two cents from the perspective of a recruit.

It didn't come across as hostile mate, I added it for clarity and to prevent any 'well I'm allowed theses slots on these ops why can't I do it on this one?' bum custardry on sign-up threads for private ops..

(which will happen anyway, as usual, on every single op :( )

As I said, we have no official agenda on this at the moment, but i strongly suggest you play within a section.

How rigid is the organisational structure?

I kinda want to unleash some Zulu black magic.

It depends and it is in the end up to the numbers we get and the troop commander. The main target so far is a to get a full troop and two whiskey assets with a pilot and co-pilot. Number wise that means:

Quote:
Troop HQ: 5 Players

1-1: 8 Players
1-2: 8 Players
1-3: 8 Players

Whiskey 1: 2 Players
Whiskey 2: 2 Players

Total: 33 Players

If we get anything above it is up to the Troop Commander what he would like to have. This is something he also has to discuss with the zeus operators when it happens, since they also have to up or downscale the mission depending on the numbers we get in the night.

This is why it is pretty important to get as much people as possible to use the signup in the thread, so we already get a broad idea about numbers.
