Lots of new radios in the Armoury

I was on the public server yesterday, the first time since the new TFAR. There were about 5 new radios and as I only remember the original ones because they were in a specific order *sigh*, I grabbed one, it didn't work.

So, I checked the listed ones against those listed at http://radio.task-force.ru/en/. It would appear we have Independent and OPFOR radios in our Arsenal. Not sure if this is by design or oversight, so posting this.

These are the radios to use:

Section net:
RF-7800S-TR, range 2km, main channel only
AN/PRC-152, range 5 km, main + alt channel

Troop net:
3CB SL/FTL backpack, range 20 km, main + alt channel
RT-1523G backpack, range 20 km, main + alt channel

FAC:
3CB FAC backpack, range 40 km, main + alt channel
AN/ARC-210 backpack, range 40 km, main + alt channel

It looks as though our white list needs some work.

Note: opfor/indep radios will not work with blufor radios even if on the same frequency

Thanks Lifetap. Good to know.

Also, and I also worked this out (with a little help) that if you have a radio with the ability to tune to an alternate channel, you (I) can't use the "t" key to lock targets, you have to use "alt-t" - I love that irony :)

My head is on a swivel, I just left the WD-40 at home.

Can you not just change your key binds?

You can change the key press that TFAR uses to something else if it conflicts. "Y" is also an issue, as that's the Zeus interface/ping key.

Controls > Configure Addons > TFAR

I set:

SR -> Ctrl F10, SR alternate -> Alt F10
LR -> Ctrl F11, LR alternate -> Alt F11

then reassign buttons on the side of my mouse to:

SR, direct-talk and LR

you see, I'm already befuddled :) I also live in fear of my computer dying and taking all that rebinding to the grave with it - what would I be then? I spent weeks neé months rebinding all the keys in Falcon 4.0 BMS - I learned a very hard lesson.

I also never change my kit when I get in game - I guess I'm the perfect grunt (or muppet :P

Thanks for the all the advice, and I probably will, after all that, follow it :) ...muppet

Don't quote me but I think if you back up your profile from documents>arma 3>profiles/other profiles you could restore your keybinds if your PC died. Once you reinstalled you'd just have to create a new profile with the same name as the old, then you could overwrite the new profile with your backed up files.

I guess if you stuck your profile on to a cloud drive OneDrive/DropBox/Box for example, you wouldn't have to copy anything, just map the local Documents folder to there (hmm, not sure, Hard-link/junction maybe).
