L118 Light Gun

I personally love artillery, are there currently any plans on towed artillery development for the future? The one I reference is used by the RM for fire support, I believe it can fit in a MK.10 landing craft, and light enough to be hooked on by a Merlin.

All I can say is it's on the 3CB mod teams backlog, along with half the BAF arsenal.  But given it took us 9 months to do the Land Rovers, I would not expect it anytime soon.

Thanks for the quick reply, definitely excited for this! Although for the mean time, is there any possibility of adding the US artillery piece that is in the RHS mod for use on the public? Have you guys ever tried it/thought of the possibility? I believe the range on that artillery piece can reach the entire map, so it would be a nice support asset that I doubt could/would be abused. Or is there a reason that this feature is not or will not be implemented?

You believe it can reach the entire map and don't see how this could be abused?  I immediately pictured people who aren't on TS or who don't care shelling the objectives immediately or friendlies.

Can always be limited, and plus, artillery piece doesn't have artillery computer, so newbies not on TS probably wouldn't know how to use it. Also, it can be limited to an artillery section and the artillery be put on a firebase of which the crew must drive to. Doubt someone would go through the hassle of downloading the mods, getting on the server, and doing all that, then drive all the way to the firebase, and most probably than not find an arty piece they don't know how to use. Of all the new people, I see, most of them have only ever used TFAR, and that is of the small percentage that even ever touched a mod. In direct artillery does require a bit of training using map tool/ range card/ then also require the loading of ammunition and all. I've only ever seen a couple of cases on the server where it was legitimate trolling just for the fun of it.

We used to have artillery on the public server and it was abused daily by idiots shelling entire towns to pieces.

Oh, ok. So many great possibilities limited by idiots that can't follow rules. Guess it can always be used on public ops which are supervised by Zeus.

RHS has one. US forces mod, I think it's named the M119. It's your bog standard L118 but with a few yank modifications.

Knock yourself out

Already mentioned it above. my suggestion was for it to be implemented in the public. It probably won't be implemented due to abuse except maybe during public ops.
