There is a interview out with one of the new devs of TFAR. Its 45 minutes and in german. I am listening to it right now and give you a round up.

Not too much new information in the interview. A lot of the question/answers were not that relevant for us. A lot of questions were also going in a TFAR vs ACRE direction, which I think was a bit silly

- There are currently 4 people working on the mod.
- The development was not halted for a good while, because main developer got a new job. 
- 1.0 is feature complete and in the final stages of beta testing.
- 1.0 will have a antenna system. So you can place a antenna on a roof and it will boost the incoming radio signal. There are further plans to add similar things in later versions. 
- 1.0 does feature an option that the AI will react to players talking.
- 1.0 has half-duplex support.

Asked the guy about about the release. You will obviously get no answer regarding a specific release date, but I got some answers on what they need to finish before the release.

ACE3 Integration
Mostly finished, but two features are not done yet. Those features are the ability to directly pick up radios via ACE3 from dead players and the ability to use the long range radios from other players with ACE3. So you could walk up to somebody with a long range radio and access that via ACE3. 

Other than that, the HUD element that shows the channel/frequency is not finished yet.

Dedmen, one of the new main devs also doesn't seem too happy about this. He thinks (and I agree) that the ACE3 stuff is not that important but the majority of the team wants that stuff in the next release.

Last night I jumped onto their discord,  and got similar info.  Going by the discussion on there, they're certainly making very good progress, with very regular commits.

I'm optimistic we'll see it soon
