SECTIONS


Hi
I was wondering if there is any ability to make sections up in game as discounting / resloting gets annoying half way through an objective.

We disabled it as it used to cause 10, 12, 15 man sections running around. i.e. No-one would fill other sections than 1-1.....

Happy to be persuaded as to why we should change it back.... ?

At the moment ShackTac has broken the sections/squads when people die.
After a while the map is filled with 1 man sections because when people die they are placed into a newly created section of their own.

We could re-introduce team management until ST is fixed or we figure out a work around

On some missions there is a way to manage groups using Alive. It is a bit janky, but usually works to add people back into groups after they die.

The ShackTac HUD feature has certainly created an issue for us.  We'll try and find a workable solution.

Imagine joining the server taking up the 8th slot in a section. When you get in imagine that they are scattered all over the shop in their own groups doing different things. Where are you supposed to go to meet your section? 

This is exactly the reason why group management was removed from the pub.

I suggested re-introducing it as a temporary fix for the ST issue, not to be abused and make the Coy structure pointless.

P.S. On last nights op there was no problem with ST hud and people dying. I died twice and never disappeared off the groups HUD.

There is a feature on ST. When someone dies, they stay on the hud until they have been ID'd as dead. You have to go right up to them to confirm the death and at this point they get removed from the group. When the player who died respawns they are assigned to a new group by the server.

You would be your own unit to be grouped into the section that needs you or you are assigned to.

You mean like wasteland where you have a 20 man sniper section on each side.
