Can we have something liek the Victoria Cross or something. 'most conspicuous bravery, or some daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy.' is the real life definition. I know we have the 'man of the Match' but it's not quite the same.

There's quite an option but from the highest down we have the:
Victoria Cross (VC)
George Cross (GC)
Conspicuous Gallantry Cross (CGC)
Distinguished Service Cross (DSC)
Military Cross (MC)

and many others.

For us obviously we want to ape but not jape if you get my drift. perhaps as the highest award the Elizabeth Cross (EC) and perhaps the Charles Cross (CC)?
instead of the CSC we can have just the Gallantry Cross (GC)
Distinguished Service Cross tbh we could have the Unit Service Cross (USC) same thing tbh just different name?
MC we could perhaps instead have the Navy Cross (NC)? there is no british equiv for this, although it is an american award as long as we do not copy in any way the american one we should be good.
so:
Elizabeth Cross (EC)
Charles Cross (CC)
Gallantry Cross (GC)
Unit Service Cross (USC)
Navy Cross (NC)

rather than having just a top award this allows levels of honour to be applied dependant on actions.
just an idea mind.
thanks
pete

I personally think that 'Medals' are a step a little too far.

Remember that this is supposed to be a relaxed fun natured group being serious in gameplay and less serious on the 'military unit' stuff.

Before you know it we'll be doing drill and shouting 'sir, yes sir' at orders.

Not to mention that getting medals is a crappy thing anyway, not the getting of them but what you had to do to even be considered for the award.
Also, in Britain, we don't have separate medals and ribbons like the Yanks do. They are one and the same. Ribbons just represent the medal itself in absence of the actual gong on your uniform when it is inappropriate to wear it. (such as around the office, informal visits)

I've noticed @Goodson has a few ribbons. Can we shrink them a bit, they are a touch on the large side.

Well yeah. That would specifically be the point as jamster said

The two things we said aren't even that similar mate lol. He suggested we get a medal which is the VC, and I stated that the requirements should be more tough than the actual VC requisites, because this is a game and you can do all sorts of things without the burden of death on your shoulders

Ontopic, though. How often do these get thrown out? Is it just whenever, or is there a set date similar to that of the promotions?

A few people have mentioned that the ribbons look too large. I think this may be a cache issue, as they should be very small. Can you try refreshing?

They look like this for me:

Were oversized for me at first too, but seem to have sorted out now.

Why does it say that you have 5 ribbons, but only 4 are displayed?

This is because I've been awarded the service ribbon twice (which gives me the 2 star version of the ribbon), so technically I do have 5 ribbons in total. It sounds like this may confuse people, so I'll look into changing the ribbon count.

I rather like those Jamie, they look pretty neat, not too big or anything either.

On the medals front, it'd technically be another ribbon, but it isn't a must have or anything i was just throwing out ideas off the back of another post ;)

Any man that can hitch the length and breadth of the Galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.
