and add -hugePages to the Additional Parameters.

Strangely, I hopped on the public last night to test the 64 bit exe, and I got worse, much worse (60% less FPS), results using it. And that was whilst still having the tbb4malloc_bi_x64 option slected with 32bit exe, so (for me):

32bit exe + 64bit malloc = good!
64bit exe + 64bit malloc = very bad

When I loaded up with the 64bit exe, I auto detected (!) and it picked LOW settings, but with the 32bit, it picked V.HIGH. It was as thought the 64bit exe wasn't detecting my 1060 GPU! Could it be a setting somewhere that I'm missing - I wished I know some really smart fellows ;)

My head is on a swivel, I just left the WD-40 at home.

From what I'm aware mate, Using low settings, it tries to take the load off the gpu and give it to the cpu instead, so try running the 64bit with your settings at Very High, and you might find it behaves better. It sounds backwards I know.

I was pretty specific about not recommending custom memory allocators or other tweaks. In my experience the people who use them are often the ones that subsequently have problems. Unless you are experienced with the inner workings of PC's and enjoy the tweak-fix cycle it's best to just stick with the simple default values.

In testing last night I found a significant improvement while using the 64bit exe, particularly on longer view distances. Arma was able to use 8GB+ of my 16GB RAM rather than being restricted to between 2 and 3GB.

ive no problems with x64, when i login ill have bad fps for like 5 to 10 seconds, than it wiill go up to ~50

these are my parameters (i7 & 32GB RAM)
arma_x64.exe -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi_x64 -hugepages -cpuCount=8 -exThreads=7 -enableht -maxMem=16384
(enableht may affect cpucount and exthreads options, but i didnt investigate yet...)

tbb4 is the default one that arma uses (32bit version on arma.exe and x64 on arma_x64.exe)

but ill agree if you having problems and/or dont understand what the options do, leave it on default, the game will find its own values !

On BIS forum for those with Nvidia cards getting bad FPS:

Try opening NVIDIA control panel and creating a new profile in the "manage 3d settings" tab  for ARMA3_X64.exe.

Apparently some cards are not recognised correctly when running the x64.exe.

This ^^^ worked a treat!!! oxox inbound :D

strange the 32bit exe is also not listed as a profile, only the steam application. Perhaps this is the root of my previous low frames.
